The Secret Plan to Remake the Middle East: Iraq and Iran at the Center of a Global Power Play
![Jese Leos](https://bookshelfspot.com/author/ricky-bell.jpg)
The Middle East has been a hotbed of political, religious, and economic turmoil for centuries. In recent decades, the region has seen the rise and fall of dictators, the outbreak of wars, and the spread of extremist ideologies. The conflicts in Iraq and Iran have played a significant role in shaping the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East, with major regional and global powers vying for influence over these nations.
The Origins of the Plan
Secret plans to remake the Middle East are not a recent phenomenon. They can be traced back to the early 20th century when major powers such as Britain and France drew arbitrary borders in the region to further their colonial agendas. However, the current plan to remake the Middle East involves a complex web of strategic interests, alliances, and proxy wars among various regional and global powers.

The Role of Iraq
From the U.S. invasion in 2003 to the fall of Saddam Hussein, Iraq has been at the center of the plan to remake the Middle East. The invasion, justified by false claims of weapons of mass destruction, resulted in the destabilization of the country and the rise of insurgency. This power vacuum allowed various sectarian and extremist groups to flourish, including the notorious Islamic State (ISIS).
Several major powers, including the United States, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, have been competing for influence in Iraq, aiming to shape its political landscape according to their own interests. As a result, Iraq has become a battleground for proxy wars, with different factions receiving support from external powers to further their agendas.
The Iranian Factor
Iran, a regional powerhouse, has been a major player in the plan to remake the Middle East. With its sectarian Shia government, Iran has sought to expand its influence across the region, including support for various Shia militias in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen.
The Iranian nuclear program has also been a source of significant concern for global powers. In 2015, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal, was signed to curb Iran's nuclear ambitions. However, the withdrawal of the United States from the agreement in 2018 and the subsequent re-imposition of sanctions have further strained relations between Iran and the international community.
The Global Power Play
The plan to remake the Middle East is not limited to regional actors. Major global powers such as the United States, Russia, and China also have vested interests in the region. The Middle East's strategic location, vast energy resources, and geopolitical significance make it a crucial battleground for these powers.
The United States, historically the dominant power in the region, aims to maintain its influence and protect its allies, most notably Israel and Saudi Arabia. It has been involved in various military interventions and alliances to shape the geopolitical landscape in its favor.
Russia has been expanding its influence in the Middle East in recent years, particularly through its military involvement in the Syrian civil war. By supporting the Assad regime, Russia has gained a foothold in the region and strengthened its position as a major player in the Middle East.
China, meanwhile, seeks to secure its energy needs and expand its economic influence in the Middle East. Through its Belt and Road Initiative, China has been investing heavily in infrastructure projects across the region, establishing economic ties and strengthening its geopolitical position.
The Humanitarian Crisis and the Future
Amidst this power play, the people of Iraq and Iran have borne the brunt of the turmoil and conflict. Countless lives have been lost, and millions have been displaced as a result of these proxy wars and political maneuverings.
The future of the Middle East remains uncertain. The plan to remake the region will continue to shape the geopolitical dynamics, with major powers vying for influence and using Iraq and Iran as key players in their global power plays.
Resolving the conflicts and addressing the root causes of instability in the Middle East will require a comprehensive and inclusive approach that takes into account the aspirations and interests of the people in the region. Only through collective efforts and genuine cooperation can a more stable and peaceful Middle East be achieved.
Be sure to check out our in-depth analysis of the strategic moves and hidden agendas behind the plan to remake the Middle East – it's a game-changer!

Journalist Jonathan Cook explores Israel’s key role in persuading the Bush administration to invade Iraq, as part of a plan to remake the Middle East, and their joint determination to isolate Iran and prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons that might rival Israel’s own.
This concise and clearly argued book makes the case that Israel's desire to be the sole regional power in the Middle East neatly chimed with Bush’s objectives in the “war on terror”.
Examining a host of related issues, from the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians to the role of Big Oil and the demonisation of the Arab world, Cook argues that the current chaos in the Middle East is the objective of the Bush administration – a policy that is equally beneficial to Israel.
