"The Great U.S. Treasure Hunt" is a 4-chapter story about 3 groups of treasure hunters following The Benefactor around the U.S. to major landmarks, and competing for cash prizes at each landmark. Hidden within each chapter are messages which guide the readers to 4 exact locations and describe items to be found at each location.

These items are not buried, just hidden. All are in public. They are within 500 feet of a free, safe parking space. No hiking, boating, swimming, or any dangerous activity is required. Simply travel to the location, park, and go to the spot where the item is hidden. Get the item, and you win $10,000. (An "accidental" find earns only $1,000...you must solve the code for the full $10,000 prize.)

There are no illustrations, only text. If you can read English, you can decode the messages. Winners must be 18 or older, but readers as young as 10 or 11 might be able to discover the methods needed to crack the codes.

All 4 chapters have different methods of breaking the code.

An example of a solution might read: ZILKERPARKPHILOSOPHERSROCKEGYPTCOIN. A quick Google search will reveal that there is a Philosopher's Rock at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. You would then need to find the "Egypt Coin" by traveling (or having a partner travel) to Zilker Park to find the coin. Remember, it is not buried, only hidden.

Every location can be found via Google; none require "local knowledge" only. 

No printed books will be sold; e-books only.

To win, decode the message, find the item, then notify us via social media or any of various methods that will be listed in the book.

To prevent needless travel, you may email us with your potential solutions at [email protected] Though the book might say you should hold off on contacting us until you have the item, we don’t want you to travel for no reason, so go ahead and contact us with your solutions before you spend money on travel.

The Hunt will continue until all 4 items are found and $40,000 is awarded to our Hunters. There will be no additional fees or charges if additional clues or hints are given.

For every 30 days that we have no winner, a clue will be given on social media. Those clues do not work alone; they require having the book to make any sense, so only Hunters who have purchased the book will be able to make use of them.

There are also Hunting Groups online where you can find a partner in another part of the country, if you solve one of the chapters and either don’t want to or can’t travel.

Our first winner, who lives near Pittsburgh, decoded the location in Chapter 4 to reveal a hiding place in North Las Vegas, Nevada. She teamed up with a friend there who found the item. The “Solver” got $9,000, the “Finder” got $1,000.
