End Of The Mayan Calendar End Times To 2019: The End Of The Mayan Calendar And The Countdown To Judgment Day

The Mayan civilization, known for their advanced knowledge in astronomy and mathematics, left behind a mysterious artifact that has fascinated both historians and conspiracy theorists for centuries – the Mayan Calendar. This intricate timekeeping system claims to predict major cosmic events, and its most controversial prophecy states that the world as we know it will come to an end on a specific date.

As the final days of the calendar draw near, many wonder if there is any truth to these predictions. Are we truly approaching judgment day?

The Ancient Mayans and Their Calendar

The Mayans inhabited Central America for thousands of years, and their civilization reached its peak between 250 and 900 AD. During this time, they developed a complex calendar system that interwove astronomical observations, religious beliefs, and mathematical calculations.

The Mayan calendar consists of several interlocking cycles, including the Tzolk'in and the Haab. The Tzolk'in, also known as the Sacred Round, is a 260-day cycle that combines 20 different day names with 13 numbers. The Haab, on the other hand, is a 365-day agricultural calendar divided into eighteen months of twenty days, with an additional five-day interval known as the Wayeb.

These two calendars work in tandem to form the Long Count, a linear tracking of time that extends over thousands of years. It is the Long Count that has given rise to the predictions surrounding the end of the Mayan calendar.

The Prophecy of the End Times

According to Mayan inscriptions, the current Great Cycle of the Long Count began on August 11, 3114 BC, marking the creation of the world. The calendar uses a base-20 numbering system, and after counting through cycles of days, months, and years, it reaches its end on December 21, 2012 AD.

This date has caused significant speculation and sensationalism, often associated with the idea of an apocalyptic event or a major shift in consciousness. Many interpretations suggest that this could be the day of reckoning, where humanity will face divine judgment and the world will be either purified or destroyed.

However, it is crucial to note that Mayan scholars and archaeologists assert that the Mayans themselves did not predict the end of the world. Instead, the end of the calendar cycle merely signifies a transition into a new era.

The Scientific Perspective

While the Mayan calendar's end might not mark an imminent doomsday, the date does hold astronomical significance. December 21, 2012, coincides with the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere – the shortest day and longest night of the year.

Astronomical events often play a significant role in ancient cultures and their religious beliefs. It is likely that the Mayans intended the end of their calendar to align with this celestial event, emphasizing their connection with the cosmos and the cyclical nature of time.

From a scientific standpoint, the "end" of the Mayan calendar does not hold any catastrophic implications. There are no solid evidence or astronomical phenomenons to support the theory of an impending apocalypse.

Modern Interpretations and Popular Culture

Despite the lack of concrete evidence, the idea of an approaching judgment day has captured the public's imagination. The supposed prophecy has been the subject of numerous books, films, and documentaries, each offering its own interpretation of what might happen.

Some suggest that the end of the Mayan calendar represents a shift in consciousness, marked by the dawning of a new era of enlightenment and spiritual growth. Others propose more cataclysmic scenarios, envisioning global disasters or even extraterrestrial contact.

Whether one believes in the prophecies or not, it is undeniable that the Mayan calendar and its associated doomsday predictions have become ingrained in popular culture. It serves as a reminder of our fascination with apocalyptic scenarios and our timeless quest for answers about our existence.

As December 21, 2012, approached, people across the globe held their breath, wondering if the Mayan calendar's end would bring about the end of the world. However, the day came and went without any remarkable global cataclysm.

The significance of the Mayan calendar lies not in its prediction of the apocalypse, but rather in its reflection of the Mayan civilization's complex understanding of time and its place within the universe. While the calendar marked the end of a cycle, it also symbolized the potential for new beginnings and transformations.

Ultimately, human fascination with doomsday prophecies endures. The Mayan calendar serves as a powerful reminder that our perception of time and our beliefs about the future shape our collective consciousness. It challenges us to reflect on our role in the cosmic order and the choices we make as we approach each new day.

End Times and 2019 reviews the evidence suggesting that the end of theworld as we know it will occur in December 2019 - progressing through astronomical clues given by the Maya, Egyptian pyramids, world mythology, and especially theBible - leading readers to a timeline of events for our civilization'sfinal years.  The author's claim - while bold and controversial - isthat prophets saw the night skies in their visions of the future and described those skies to us in their prophecies.  With modern computers and astronomical software we can succeed where Isaac Newton gave up, and calculate WHEN the prophets' future visions occur.  Hundreds of documented citations and Bible verses point to the same events ending in 2019.
